LOWELL BOOTT COTTON MILLS TRIP
Our ESOL classes visited Lowell during our U.S. Civics unit. We first saw a film at the Lowell Visitors Center and then we walked to the Boott Cotton Mills Museum. Here we are in front of the museum.

Here are some students inside the museum. Even though there were only 4-5 looms working, students needed to wear earplugs! Students saw how the looms worked and touched some cloth woven by the looms.

PAUL REVERE TRIP
Our classes visited the Paul Revere House in Boston. Before our tour, our guide told us about the life of Paul Revere.

Here we are in front of the Paul Revere statue. We are on our way from the Paul Revere house to the Old North Church and the Copp's Hill Burying Ground.

BOOK CLUBS

Marie, Saima, and Asma wait for the other members of their book club to join them. At this meeting, students had already read A White Heron by Sarah Orne Jewett and were prepared to discuss the story.

Elsa, Sadako, Payman, Karin, and Chie discuss The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin. Many book club members enjoy the chance to read great American stories and to discuss them in an intimate setting.

PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST

Olga S. (Level 2) wins the Pumpkin decorating contest on October 26th. Two judges chose Olga's pumpkin as the winner over 18 other pumpkins. For her success, Olga received a box of NSCAP chocolates. Congratulations!
