My name is Chie. Chie means “wisdom” in my language. My parents hoped that I will become a smart girl and I hope their hope comes true. I’m from Japan and grew up in Tokyo . I came here because of my husband’s work. We have been here for two years. I like to exercise very much, so after I came to the U.S, I started to practice Taekwondo which is a Korean martial art. I take Taekwondo classes 3 days a week and now I am preparing for my red belt test. I hope I can stay here until I get a black belt. Also I like to do crafts. I wanted to knit a poncho for this winter, but I had no idea how to make this poncho. People who are in the senior center are helping me. In this winter, if you see a Japanese woman who is wearing a nice handmade poncho, that is me! I enjoy my life very much.
